Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Proposal Professional to provide critical support to a highly functioning engineering and consultant services company in Texas. In this position, the individual will need to be a dynamic team player, who can lead, collaborate and contribute productively in a deadline-driven environment.

 

The best candidate will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills; as well as a high degree of flexibility, independence, creative thinking, and problem-solving ability. The Proposal Coordinator will approach assignments and areas of responsibility in a proactive, self-directed, enthusiastic manner, and seek to add value, show initiative, and provide accomplished proposal skills.

 

Location:

This position could be located in our Austin, Dallas or Houston office depending on candidate preference.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and track marketing activities
  • Research target markets
  • Coordinate marketing plan development
  • Lead the development/production of high-quality qualifications packages and proposals
  • Participate in go/no-go decisions, lead proposal kick-off meetings, as requested and work with technical team to establish value proposition and win themes
  • Write proposal sections and edit text prepared by technical staff
  • Develop or coordinate the preparation of proposal-relevant graphics and visuals
  • Prepare business development and qualification materials including updating staff resumes and project summary sheets
  • Review proposal requirements carefully and manage towards meeting those deadlines
  • Collaborate with senior technical staff to craft proposal approach and teaming arrangements
  • Ensure consistent tone and compelling message within proposals
  • Support market segment strategy development and provide project and client research, as needed
  • Support local and national event/association activities and involvement
  • Develop strategies to strengthen our presence in certain markets
  • Determine need for new materials, presentations, and graphics
  • Participate in strategic proposal development and planning

Skills / Qualifications

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or Science
  • Superior writing and editing skills
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of related A/E/C industry experience with demonstrated organizational, writing, desktop publishing and interview/presentation development capabilities
  • Must have technical proficiency with standard Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
  • Must be a self-starter and motivated to work independently
  • Create, maintain and update key prospect list and develop a customer database using Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in an environment with pressing deadlines
  • Experience leading teams through all stages of proposal development and production
  • Willingness to proactively develop client relationships utilizing outside selling techniques
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to converse with people at all levels
  • Willingness to learn and understand environmental and engineering services
  • Must pass drug test and background check
