Overview / Responsibilities

Wood seeks a Supply Chain Manager to manage portfolio of Solar Renewable energy projects.  Heavy experience in power & energy EPC/EPCM projects a plus. This role will be based in Tucker, GA (Atlanta).

 

This position is responsible for managing the Supply Chain Solar Renewables operations of Wood for the Business Group, to effectively and proactively plan, coordinate, and control execution of the Supply Chain activities for the projects and operations.

The incumbent is responsible to the Supply Chain Director and the Business Group Management for delivering results regarding on-time performance, cost savings, and quality; achieving project objectives and value-added expectations; and compliance with established policies and procedures.  The incumbent has thorough knowledge and understanding of supply chain concepts, principles and practices, as applied in the engineering and construction industry; project delivery processes; and relationship expectations with suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and the project teams. The incumbent understands how the supply chain functions integrate with and impacts other functions in the project delivery process.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage supply chain resources and direct those activities required to support the planning and execution of supply chain for operations and projects for a Business Group, geographic region, a supply chain function on a major project, or a specific medium to large project
  • Represent supply chain at Business Group, regional, or project strategy coordination meetings
  • Ensure supply chain is engaged in business development and proposal support activities.  Act as the focal point for all matters relating to the acquisition of goods and services for a project during the proposal process
  • Provide the necessary written, graphic, and pricing/cost information in support of the proposal process.  Provide budget estimates for supply chain labor hours as well as for anticipated materials, equipment and services in support of the proposal process
  • Provide preliminary risk assessment related to the supply chain activities assumed by the proposed Prime Contract.  Provide a preliminary strategy for supply chain execution including any mitigation of risk assumed by the proposed Prime Contract
  • Participate in Business Group reviews of business opportunities as the supply chain representative for those reviews
  • Plan for and budget all the supply chain resources and systems necessary to support Business Group operations and projects, and/or major domestic projects for a geographic region
  • Establish and maintain effective training programs to develop existing personnel in support of regional or Business Group projects
  • Participate in development of Project Execution Plans
  • Maintain performance metrics to measure the performance of the Business Group or region with regard to cost savings, on-time performance, and quality of goods and services
  • Assist in the resolution of purchase order and subcontract disputes
  • Effectively communicate with Global Supply Chain Management, Business Group Management, internal departments, and with Clients on supply chain issues
  • Review major purchase orders and subcontracts prior to execution and participate in all major negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors

Skills / Qualifications

Education:

  • Degree in Business, Law, Engineering, Supply Management or other applicable field, and training in supply chain.  Experience in lieu of a degree may be considered

Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of supply chain experience, with 10 years in the engineering and construction industry for Solar projects
  • Significant experience in managing supply chain operations on major projects, including drafting and formulating contracts, bidding, negotiating and administering major purchase orders and subcontracts, and the specific supply chain functions involved
  • At least 10 years experience in supervising procurement staff and/or other disciplines preferred
  • Assignment to this level of supply chain Management is determined based on numerous other experience factors including complexity of projects worked, size and value of projects, and number of associated supply chain functions mastered

Certifications/Registrations:

Certification from the Institute for Supply Management or National Contract Management Association (or other international equivalent) is desirable.

 

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required
