Overview / Responsibilities

Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager/ Estimator, in our Hermiston, OR office. This role has overall responsibility for project management and directing the estimating effort for large industrial projects from conceptual design through planning and construction.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Read specifications such as blueprints to determine construction requirements and to plan procedures.
  • Assign work to employees, based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs.
  • Confer with managerial and technical personnel, other departments, and contractors in order to resolve problems and to coordinate activities.
  • Complete and maintain appropriate documentation associated with project in a timely manner.
  • Participating in the development of the Project Execution Plan, Estimate Development Plan, and Basis of Estimate, including material and worker requirements to complete jobs.
  • Creating indirect costs for estimates
  • Anticipates overlaps and gaps in costing and is proactive in pursuing resolution
  • Complete and maintain appropriate documentation associated with project in a timely manner.

 

Skills / Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience
  • At least 3 years of related supervisory experience in the civil construction industry.
  • Sound knowledge of construction processes
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrated experience with estimating costs for international projects
  • Proficiency in software applications such as Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Vista by Viewpoint    
  • Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Computer Usage – Ability to use technology to track job progress, document activities and communicate using current available software programs.
